After the graduation...

And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
- Kahlil Gibran

As we graduated from the hallowed precincts of XLRI yesterday evening, we learnt one last lesson - that knowledge is boundless and learning is endless. Even as we crammed books, read notes, slept (ooops) studied in class and met endless submission deadlines, we perhaps didn't think that we were moving towards a destination much beyond our imagination. Yesterday made it all worthwhile.

We claim no merit, no achievement, no success in acquiring knowledge, for we have only scratched the surface of the infinite. But if at all we can, our claim is this:

That within our hectic schedules,
Of office, work and family life,
We felt the need to challenge ourselves,
To be students once again, refresh life.

Driven by the urge to grow,
We spent all waking hours in class,
Learning, un-learning and re-learning,
Often carrying it into the night.

From the safe shores of knowledge,
Into the stormy seas of reality,
Applying, experiencing and sharing,
We validated all we learnt,

In these 3 years, the only thing we know,
Is that there is so much more to learn,
Indeed, at the end of it,
We realise our journey has just begun!

To continue this process, I am proposing to start a Blog for the batch called xpgp.blogspot.com This is intended to keep up the camaraderie, sharing and posting even as we become alumnus and may not meet frequently (if at all) as a group. Feel free to post, sharing your experience, learning and insights as you continue in the playground of life. Anybody interested to post regularly can send me an email at arahimcal@gmail.com and I will ad him as an author. Others who do not wish to post regularly can send their contents to me for posting. Finally, an inspirational couplet for the graduating class:

Dil mein tuufaanon ki toli, aur nason mein inqilaab...

Hosh dushman ke udaa denge, humein roko na aaj...

Door reh paaye jo humse, dum kahaan manzil mein hai ...
Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai!

Go out and conquer.... All the best
